From the book, Chapter 12. $36 after 25% off was $48, not $45. A $53.63 total with 7.25% tax was $50.00 before tax (taking 7.25% off gives $49.74). $585 that is 15% of take-home means take-home of $3,900, and 1% is $39. $540 of $2,400 is 22.5%. A $9 tip at 15% means a $60 bill. $79.99 down to $59.99 is 25% off. To keep $300 after a 40% cut, price it at $500.
