Opens on Chapter 2’s example: Hollis needs 3/4 cup and the 3/4-cup measure is missing.
How it works
Everything is counted in teaspoons first (a cup is 48), then divided up the ladder. To measure it, the book’s rule fills cups in quarters or thirds (whichever leaves less over), then tablespoons, then teaspoons to the nearest eighth. A US cup is 236.6 mL (8 US fluid ounces); a metric cup is 250 mL.
Amounts can be typed as 3, 0.75, 3/4, 1 1/2 or 1½. They’re worked as exact fractions and written as a cook measures them: cups in quarters or thirds, then tablespoons, then teaspoons to the nearest eighth. Everything stays in your browser: no sign-up, nothing stored or sent.
