The Sowing Calendar
Sowing interval, trays a sowing and crops in turn to every sow and cut date, the trays standing each day and the most you will need.
Build a four-tier microgreen shelf and learn the math of growth on the way: sequences, ratios, doubling, roots, S-curves, logarithms, the golden ratio, the square law, decay and break-even. Call each number before you measure it, then let the scale keep score.
Hardcover and paperback, 8.25 × 11 in, one book page for both.

Not for: exam-syllabus coverage or proofs, or anyone who wants the shelf without the arithmetic. It is never a substitute for an electrician or a food-safety officer where the book says so.
One wire shelf, four tiers, 8 trays, one 40 W LED bar a tier. Every chapter hands it one number.
The game: every chapter ends with Call It (write the number before you measure) and Check It (the gap scores 3, 2, 1 or 0). A Quest Map tracks the eleven stations, the first eight trays earn a Harvest Score of Gold, Silver or Bronze, and a Trophy page holds the result. 12 more crops are worked out on the Crop Shelf.
The shelf was worked out on paper from published figures, not grown by us: weigh and measure your own. The book was written in collaboration with AI tools and reviewed by the author. Its numbers are checked by a verification program, and its figures are drawn by the same program, but mistakes may remain: see corrections & errata. LED lights and water share a shelf: plug-in only, through a GFCI (US) or RCD (UK) outlet. Selling food has rules where you live; the book names them and says when to ask.
Each calculator opens on the book's Microgreen Shelf and shows its formula, so you can check it by hand.
Sowing interval, trays a sowing and crops in turn to every sow and cut date, the trays standing each day and the most you will need.
Seed for any container by area, seeds a tray and per square inch, greens per gram of seed, mix and starting water.
Weeks to a second kit, the weekly growth rate, the doubling time and the rule of 72, and why the ladder must stop.
A start, an end and the steps to the multiplier and percent per step; monthly and yearly rates both ways.
The S-curve from seed weight, harvest weight and day: the ceiling, the fastest day and what one more day adds.
Solve for time: the day a tray reaches a weight, years until money doubles, the acid ratio between two pH readings.
Golden partners of any length, Fibonacci ratios, labels per sheet, the best fractions for a number, a dot sunflower.
What raising the light leaves at the tray, your light's own power law from two phone readings, and kWh and cost.
Shelf life at any temperature from a halving step, what a warm trip uses, and the oldest pack on your rhythm.
Seed, mix and light to the cost to grow a tray of twelve crops, and the contribution per tray and per shelf-day.
The kit, your crops and your price to the contribution per pack and tray, break-even trays and packs, and the weeks.
A tray's grams from seed weight and the crop's ratio, with a blank for what you weighed: the gap and the points.
Your calls and weighings for the first eight trays to each gap, the Call It points and your level: Gold, Silver or Bronze.
The Quest Map, the five templates (the sowing calendar, the harvest log, the Call It log, the label sheet, the cost and price sheet) and the Trophy page, on one page, as the book prints them.
